Such a great question when you are looking at your motivation to do something. 👶 Like a curious child ask the Why question to get your driving core motivator to change a behavior. This can be great for all of your goals. 🎯 Take the time, space and focus to identify your WHY. Then be like a child and ask why several times to get your driving core motivator. Example: How do you want to feel? I want to get better sleep, and feel energetic. Why is getting better sleep and energy important? Because I want to wake up happy and motivated to start my day without a caffine kick. Why is that important to you? Because right now I'm dragging to get myself out of bed and motivated to even walk What happens then? When I'm that way I don't accomplish anything and I feel depressed and don't want to socalize. With this simple switch you could lose up to 90% of the little joy you still have left in your life. 😁 Of course this is tongue and cheek. But there is no reason to eliminate the foods you like when you have a healthy fitness lifestyle. All or nothing mentality. This food is good or bad. This black and white thinking and demonizing food will lead you to restrictive eating and bingeing. 🤪Which DOESN’T seem very moderate at all! For me, moderation means: 1. Not denying myself “worth it” treats or following a super restrictive way of eating. 2. Focusing on health vs eliminating food groups. 3. Making 80%-90% of my choices from healthy whole foods, and allowing the rest to be extras. 🤔On a day-to-day basis, that looks like: 1. Getting a fruit or veg in every meal. 2. Enjoying an ounce or two of dark chocolate in the afternoon. 3. Having a “date night” meal on the weekend where I order one of my favorites. 4. Have you tried Turkey burgers and they have been j Have you tried Turkey burgers and they have been just meh? Try this Feta Turkey burger for some flavor! By using ground turkey breast but adding feta cheese it makes this tasty burger a satisfying sub for the regular hamburger at BBQs. Ingredients: 4 tbsp. sun dried tomatoes 4 kale leaves 1 lb. (450g) ground turkey ¼ cup (40g) feta, crumbled 4 burger buns 4 tbsp. mayonnaise 1 avocado, sliced 1 tomato, sliced lettuce leaves Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with baking paper. 2. Place the sun dried tomatoes and kale into a food processor or high-speed blender and blitz until minced. 3. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, minced sun dried tomatoes, kale and crumbled feta cheese. Form the mixture into four burgers and lay them on the baking sheet. 4. Place the sheet into the hot oven and bake for 7 minutes, then flip the burgers over and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until cooked through. 5. Remove the burgers from the oven and assemble the buns. 6.Toast the buns and spread each bun with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Place ¼ of avocado on the bottom of each bun and add the burger. Next top the burgers with tomato and lettuce leaves, before covering with the top bun. 🔥PEP TALK TIME!!!🔥 I’m going to tell you 🔥PEP TALK TIME!!!🔥 I’m going to tell you a little story about a crazy week I had a while back. And I’m sharing this because I’m 99.9% sure you can relate. My schedule was OUT OF CONTROL (due to circumstances beyond my control). Which meant: I didn’t get a chance to work out as much as usual My food choices were not great (oops) My sleep was TERRIBLE … All of which made everything even more stressful, which made me crave even MORE junk, which made my sleep even worse, which made me feel too tired to work out. And on and on it went. When the weekend finally came, all I wanted to do was order takeout, grab a glass (or two!) wine, and binge-watch Netflix. 🍷📺🍕🍪🍿🌮🍩 But then I had a little talk with myself. 👍Yes, I would let myself relax and unwind on Friday night. But I also knew that if I didn’t take ONE STEP … make ONE GOOD DECISION … to snap myself out of this spiral, I was heading in the exact opposite direction of my goals. So the next morning even though I didn’t want to, I ate a healthy breakfast and went for a walk to clear my head. I didn't even get a full workout in I started small with a shorter workout. Which made it easier to take the next healthy action. 🙌Happy ending: By the end of the weekend, I felt like my old self again and was able to slide back into my normal routine. What a relief! 👉What is ONE ACTION you can take TODAY to help you get back on track (or up your game)? One great way to add flavor to your food and make One great way to add flavor to your food and make it a bit more tasty without a lot of extra calories is to add some herbs. Need some ideas? Basil-is a herb often used in soups, sauces, sandwiches, salads. (has a licorice and clove taste) Mint- can be used as in a savory or sweet dish. Often used in tea, peas, ice cream, carrots, mojitos, smoothies. Rosemary- has a lemon-pine flavor is often used in potatoes, poultry, pizza, pork. It has a strong flavor so a little goes a long way. Oregano- often used in pizza, seafood, poultry, game and tomato sauces. Oregano grows wild in the mountains of Italy and Greece. It means "joy of the mountain.
