We will be talking about the season of Winter. During this time of less activity in nature….. we look inward. (hibernate) We will be practicing our breathing. (Pranayama) Breathing is an incredibly effective, important tool to teach children so they can control their energy, their mood, and their impulses.
No matter what age you can teach children to breathe and slow the “fight or flight” down. So when they have emotions that overcome them, they can use the tool of deep breathing to stop, reflect and instead of reacting they can slow down and process emotions and stressors.
After “slowing down” we will have yoga songs, fun yoga games and crafts during our Kids New Years Celebration!
